At the age of 8, Frankie Wallach got her first role in a film by Idit Cebula. She always preferred being on film sets to going to summer camps and spent her summers working with directors like Josée Dayan, Lisa Azuelos, and Simon Astier. After finishing high school, she went on to study film theory at King's College.
At 25, after the success of her first short film 'Kneidler', in which she featured her grandmother, Frankie decided it was natural to start working on her first feature film. She directed, acted in it, and began the project without any funding.
This first film, 'Trop d’amour', is a very personal story that focuses on Julia, her lively and lovable grandmother. Frankie Wallach wanted to capture Julia's special energy, tell her story, and show the strong connection they share. The film is also a way for Frankie to think about family relationships and how memories, values, and emotions are passed from one generation to the next. Her goal was to save these moments before they disappeared.
