Emma Branderhorst, a 28-year-old director from Amsterdam, is known for transforming significant social themes like period poverty, children of war, and shaming into intimate and relatable narratives. Her career began with 'Under the Skin' (2021) premiered at Berlinale Generation, followed by 'Spotless', winner of the Crystal Bear at Berlinale and a 2023 Oscar contender. Her latest short, 'Ma Mère et Moi', also premiered at Berlinale in 2023.
